John Joseph McCarthy was born and raised in the small beach community of Avon By the Sea, New Jersey. After graduating from San Diego State University with a bachelor’s degree in Finance in 1983, he moved to New York City where he worked for Paine Webber on the floor of the New York Mercantile Exchange in the World Trade Center.

After three years of working in New York, it was off to Los Angeles, California where he worked for Tullet & Tokyo Forex, a Eurodollar brokerage firm; trading institutional eurodollar deposits between banks.

He came to south Florida in 1990 and for the past twelve years has been actively involved in financial planning, securities investments, insurance as well as the mortgage business. He started his own company Shamrock Mortgage & Investments, a mortgage brokerage business four years ago.

As a highly experienced Licensed Mortgage Broker he provides his clients with professional, personal service with very affordable rates. As an independent mortgage broker he is not confined to the lending programs of just one lending institution. In fact, Shamrock Mortgage is signed up with over 30 different lenders. This allows us to “shop” the rates and terms on almost any type of mortgage.……
